The Telstar 8m was a continuation of the Telstar 26 line.
It was in production from 1979 to 1981 and was the last model in the early Telstar line.
This model was built in the UK and later production moved to the US with relocation of the Telstar factory.
Only a few hulls were manufactured in the US plant, the production stopped due the factory fire. LOA (length overall): 26 ft 3 in

All GRP trimaran
Finish: Gelcoat
Main Hull and outriggers professionally blasted to remove gel coat and new layers applied 2017.
Outrigger hinge/brackets professionally replaced with new S/S brackets (2018)
Rudder modified to lifting (centreboard type) rather than standard dagger-board.
Has a lifting keel. But this was encapsulated in 2012 and replaced with leeboards on outer floats.
A hardwood strake was fitted to the keel to enable the boat to take the ground better.
The purpose was to avoid any water ingress from centreboard case at the pivot as boat was only used for day sailing in Chichester Harbour.
The boat still points well to windward and the centreboard can be restored as it is still in situ. -
