A great example of a great design!
Broker's note: I first met Fountaine Pajot as a professional skipper and found them to be pleasing both in layout & handling.
Superb holiday yacht or comfortable world cruiser.

MAIN SAIL : Full batten of Triradial DX laminate made in 2018. 76.64 sq.meters (an extra 1.64 sq.meters above standard in the roach for light wind performance).
GENOA : Triradial DX laminate cloth made in 2018.
SPINNAKER : Parasailor type 156 sq. meters. Made in 2016. Used only very lightly so as new condition.
MAST CARS : Facnor F30, All new in 2018.
MAINSAIL LAZY BAG : Sunbrella material. Made in 2015. -

ENGINES : Two Yanmar 3JH3E.

FRESH WATER PRESSURE ACCUMULATOR TANK : 4.5 ltre (large, so long pump rest time).
SALT WATER PUMP : supplying seawater to galley, deckwash and anchor chain wash.

ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC PASSERELLE : Hydraulic, remote control, stainless steel and teak telescopic design (rock solid!).
BIMINI TOP : Quality Sunbrella material. With central portion reinforced with marine plywood faired with epoxy filler and paint to look light GRP (this provides walk-on access to the boom whilst keeping the bimini very light weight).
Also zip-on Sunbrella water proof walls all round for winter.
Plus zip-on sunshade walls for summer. All made in 2018. -
Background Info +
This Fountaine Pajot Bahia 46 was professionally maintained by her first owner from launch until 2013.
2013 saw a major refit with additions of generator, air-conditioning, electric/hydraulic passerrelle. LED lights throughout the boat, including navigation lights.
Under her second (current) owners since 2014 she has had upgrades, improvements, repairs and maintenance during each winter period. These improvements include :
The engines are serviced according to the Yanmar schedule (oil and filter changes STRICTLY every 150hrs). Coolant changed annually. Port engine new starter motor 2016. Starboard engine new starter motor 2019. In 2018 the starboard engine was removed and stripped down. Replacement crankshaft fitted. New Crankshaft bearings, piston rings, one piston connecting rod, new head gasket etc. All parts genuine Yanmar.
The Saildrives run with the specified oil, which is changed every 250 hours. Both Saildrives were removed and stripped for inspection and new prop shaft seals in 2016. Both Saildrive cones lapped in 2018, also starboard Clutch shaft replaced. Port Saildrive pinion shaft oil seal replaced 2018 (power take off to engine). Starboard Saildrive gear shift oil seal replaced 2018. Port Saildrive gear shift oil seal replaced 2019.
New trampoline, quality French made, 2015.
Guest cabin decklight frames (deck hatch window frames) removed and rebedded into deck onto butyl rubber 2016. Guest cabin hull portlight frames (port hole window frames) removed and rebidded into hull onto butyl rubber 2019.
Electric toilets in the 4 guest cabins (simple one button operation). Automatic shower pumps (no button to press!). Massive 330 litre waste water tanks to comply with strict pollution laws. A fifth toilet/shower compactly installed in the starboard hull corridor (for captain, crew or guests in the single cabins).
New battery wiring with isolator switches to parallel the port engine and generator batteries for emergency starting. Also switching to allow generator battery charging from the port engine alternator (to maintain generator start battery charge during infrequent use). Large charge shelf with 8 USB outlets fitted in saloon, sympathetic to the saloon design (looks original). Replacement side stays with Blue Wave Compact Strand 14 mm stainless wire in 2019. Replacement forestay with Blue Wave Compact Strand 14 mm stainless wire in 2019. Forestay furler completely stripped, inspected and reassembled in 2019. All rigging screws and end attachments are top-of-the-range Petersen products, made in England. The rigging screws are bronze bodied chrome finish. Fitted with the new wire in 2019. -

SUMMARY FROM THE OWNER (British Ocean Yachtmaster and professional sailor):
The Fountaine Pajot Bahia 46 is a fine sailing catamaran of stylish appearance. Hull and deck surfaces are rounded for strength, rigidity and windward aerodynamics. This design maintains light displacement for good sailing performance, whilst giving good interior accommodation size (the boat is bigger than it looks!). The Bahia 46 makes good progress to windward, even in heavy seas, and the cockpit is completely enclosed for ocean safety and safety of young children.
Probably one of the best production designed catamarans to provide home comfort with ocean going safety and performance.
For the last five and a half years we have used her for light charter work (always with me as skipper), and have also enjoyed her for their private use.
Maintenance issues have always been addressed, and improvements above original Fountaine Pajot spec have been added. Due to changed business plans and our current stage of family life we are reluctantly selling our Bahia. If circumstances were different – we would be off around the world in her!
