Hull Preparation: Sanded entirely back to the fiberglass layer in 2023.
Coating System: Two structural coats of Tikkurila Temacoat RM40 two-component, marine-grade epoxy paint applied across the entire boat (hulls, decks, and beams).
Topcoat: Above the waterline, finished with Tikkurila Temadur polyurethane paint, with a neatly integrated non-skid texture over all walkable deck spaces.
Deck Construction: Newly built in 2023 using marine-grade Okoume plywood, a 2cm foam core, and the SR5500 epoxy system. Fully fiberglassed, with three additional structural glass layers laminated around the engine bay area for enhanced localized strength.
Dyneema net: between the two hulls fore and aft there is a dyneema net streched this is very light yet strong, make more usefull space and gives extra ssafety.
Extra aluminium beams: Fore and aft I have added two extra beams both aluminium. Adding dyneema net to these gives even more deck space and extra safety.
Rig and Rigging +
Standing Rigging: Completely renewed in 2023 using 6mm Dyneema run through appropriately sized, hard-anodized aluminum low-friction rings. Lashings are heavy-duty 4mm Dyneema.
Running Rigging: Almost entirely replaced with new lines between 2023 and 2024.
Mast: Aluminum, modified to original plan dimensions with a professionally fabricated and welded top and base (2023).

Custom Trailer: Specifically engineered and fitted to transport this exact Tiki 30 catamaran hulls and components safely.
It has been road-tested for over 4,000 km across Europe (including long-distance hauls from northern Germany and down to the Adriatic coast).
It tracks perfectly and makes the boat fully mobile by road.
Owner Comments +
I bought MOMI in 2023. After sailing her for a few months that same year, she went through a complete, top-to-bottom refit. The entire boat was sanded down and repainted from the hulls up.
I built a brand-new deck strictly adhering to the original Wharram plans. The original physical build plans will be passed on to the new owner, along with an additional set of official plans for a deckpod, which I purchased while deciding between the open deck and pod configurations. (I chose the original open deck layout because the previous deck had been heavily modified, and I wanted to restore her authentic design).
For the deck seating, I constructed flexible vinyl benches exactly as specified in the original plans. However, to suit my family's preferences, I also built a set of solid, rigid benches using a foam core laminated with two layers of fiberglass on each side and premium SR5500 epoxy. (The solid benches are visible on the picture when we are sailling with the spinakker.) Both seating options are included with the boat, allowing the next owner to choose their preferred configuration.
During the refit, all legacy through-hulls were completely removed. The hulls were plugged with marine plywood and glassed over using multiple structural layers and staggered patch sizes for maximum hull integrity.
The aluminum mast was also modified and corrected during the refit. When I purchased the boat, the mast was overly tall with a non-standard wooden base and top. I restored the mast dimensions to match the original plans exactly. Working with a professional marine aluminum welder, we fabricated and welded a new aluminum mast top and base. The mast is now professionally welded, robust, and completely true to the original Wharram specifications.
MOMI is in very good condition. The only areas currently needing minor attention are the hatch covers; they are perfectly functional for now, but in the long run, I would recommend replacing them with composite ones. I have already upgraded the port-aft hatch cover to a composite build.
